Boxer walks over to take some photos of the debris to let his contact know danger is still lurking.

My body's just starting to catch up to the freezing temperature outside. I was on a mission to get that pen away from everybody, and a winter jacket was the last thing on my mind. Good thing I have on this ugly knitted sweater. I wrap my hands around my shivering body and wait for Boxer to finish.

I hear my front door slamming shut and turn to see Edge has arrived with two jackets and beanies in his hands and a grim look on his face.

You could hardly miss the sound of that explosion.

He throws a jacket and beanie at me before taking off after Boxer. I gather he wants to survey the scene up close and probably have a private word with Boxer. I leave them to it and decide the jacket and beanie aren’t necessary.

I go back inside and sit down on the mudroom bench and take my boots off. Something's been botherin' me about that night we raided Cezar's home. Boxer said Edge's men jumped over a body lying in their way when they were chargin' down the hallway to get to Edge. Torque saw the body in the light and described him as a black man in a suit, which would be Filip because no other black men were working for Cezar according to Adam's brief.

I put my head in my hands and close my eyes. I need to take a few moments to think back on when I was inside that house and what I saw. Somethin’ is nigglin’ at me.

I let my memories sift through the night we infiltrated Cezar's private lair and locate when I took off after the high-roller who was trying to escape from the great room and the moments that followed.

Having disposed of several minions, I check the time and realize I have just over a minute to get out of this place before she blew.

Some fucker thought it would be challenging to throw the place into darkness disablin’ our invasion, unaware of our team’s night-vision. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any.

Slade text me moments ago letting me know Whisper had been found and was safe. I notice he didn’t say she was safe and well. He was the only other person to have the prior knowledge I was a silent member of the team.

I can hear muffled voices and heavy boots poundin’ the floor. Edge’s men will be getting the hell out of Dodge.

With no time to spare, I decided to risk movin' regardless of visibility just as the power kicks back in.

I sprint back to the great room on the hunch nobody thought to grab Cezar’s fucked-up head; in case it came in handy for DNA. Anything I could do to help bring that motherfucker’s empire down I would, but I was cutting it tight with time.

As I get closer to the great room, I hear Edge hollerin’ at his brothers to grab a ball, coats, and blankets and get out.
